Family Witte web-site

The subject of this web-site is the Witte name and the associated families.

This site is originated in the United Kingdom where a large amount of genealogical research has been carried out. The prime mover was the late Philip Thomas, a genealogical lawyer, who was related to the Witte family by marriage. More recently, research has been carried out by Geoff Witte.

The first Witte generation in the UK was Albert Oscar Witte who was born in Swansea, South Wales but his parents came from Berlin and Magdeburg in East Prussia. At the end of the 19th Century, some Witte’s emigrated to Brisbane, Australia. Some descendants moved to the USA and New Zealand.

There is a Witte genealogy page to which information is being added daily. It will take some time even to list existing information! However, do not let that put you off looking at the pages! They use the phpGedView program which makes it possible for you to add or amend information as well.
